Exhibition Description

Elisabeth Sonneck and Peter Stohrer – in this encounter, dealing with the given hall and exhibition architecture takes on a central role.
The partition walls are stripped of their function, they themselves become sculptural bodies through the positioning of the colour strips and open up not only unusual perspectives but also new contexts in the space. In the front area of the hall, both artists play an almost classical prelude, a few pictures, a few objects, a quiet approach. The further the viewer strides through the space, the more the rhythm accelerates through the installative approach.

with the room. At the end of the hall, the finale appears on the back wall, which extends over almost the entire width of the room, with a multitude of small painted bodies by Peter Stohrer and an asymmetrically positioned colour track by Elisabeth Sonneck. The independence of both artists in their means and in their approach to the space is obvious; what is striking, however, is the creative integration that has been found, the interlocking of two artistic approaches, with which the vocabulary of the painted bodies and colour lines continually gives rise to new overall situations.
